Our History

New Hope Baptist Church was founded in February 1982 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Huey Thomas under the leadership of Pastor Charles Calhoun. Shortly thereafter the church moved to 2.7 acres on Highway 259 south of Ore City. Pastor Freeman Pierce was called as Pastor in 1988 and in 1993 the Lord allowed the church to build a new building at the current location. What started with just a handful of people has grown to a church which averages over two hundred in Sunday attendance.

New Hope Baptist Church is committed to loving God and touching people with His love. Our greatest desire is to see people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and have a real, personal relationship with Him. I think you’ll find that we are a warm church that longs to see our guests become life-long friends.
